Flying in a tropical paradise

Enjoy effortless soaring all day in t-shirt weather at cloudbase over beautiful jungle-covered mountains. Soft-edged and plentiful thermals make for extraordinarily pleasurable flying and provides an abundance of airtime. Colombia is the perfect respite from the harsh North American winter and a fantastic place to gain new skills and be ready to start the spring season off with confidence.

All abilities welcome

Whether you are fresh out of P2-school and don't even know what a thermal is, or want to attempt your first cross-country flights, or are an airtime hound in search of airtime and distance personal bests, Pidechinche has something for everyone. Pilots of all levels from all over the world make the annual pilgrimage to Colombia in search of winter airtime. All clients will be grouped with an instructor and peers of similar abilities and goals in order to tailor the experience to you.

About Piedechinche, Colombia

Piedechinche is located about a 1 hour drive from Cali, Colombia (airport Code: CLO). This small, peaceful, and safe town provides a relaxing and welcoming experience. The local Colombian people are famously friendly, humble, and happy to see paragliders visit.

The flying conditions are significantly easier than what pilots from the American west are familiar with. Often conditions are soarable as early as 9am and it can be effortless to reach cloudbase, allowing for regular opportunities to touch the clouds. Soft-edged, reliable, and well-behaved thermals allow pilots of all levels to fly throughout the entire day, nearly every day of the season.

Small group instruction

Our goal is to not only provide guidance and logistical support to help you fly, but to provide personalized coaching designed to level your flying up that is only possible in a small group environment. We make this possible by limiting attendance to a 4:1 client:instructor ratio, and grouping students of similar abilities and goals together. We are prepared to provide instruction and coaching in accordance with your ability level and goals, whether that is teaching you to catch your first thermal,  maximizing distance and flying 100km+, and everything between.
